Ekern family vacation, 1969. John Ekern and his daughter Joan renovated a used school bus to resemble a motothome. It accommodated a family of six and a cat. Summer vacations included many Minnesota State Parks, the Black Hills of South Dakota, and numerous friends and relatives. Most notably, it served as an activity hum during the 45th anniversary celebration of Edith and Edwin Sanders in 1969.
