John Ekern on his motorcycle

John enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He favored the Honda 750. Often, he would customize a new seat. Then a couple of years later, he'd do it again. He would ride it around town on errands by himself. Or with a friend, they would take 2 or 3-day trips to enjoy the scenery and the interesting people they would meet along the way. Each of his children enjoyed riding motorcycles and got their licenses.

In 1975, John drove his daughter Joan to her new job in California with a trailer of her belongings and his motorcycle. Leaving the car with her, he drove the motorcycle home the 2000 miles. He had many stories from that trip.
